South Australian Council of Social Service (SACOSS)
As the peak non-government representative body for health and community services in South Australia, the South Australian Council of Social Service (SACOSS) has a vision of justice, opportunity and shared wealth for all South Australians.
SACOSS is part of a national network, consisting of the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) and other state and territory COSS's which individually and collectively advocate for marginalised and disadvantaged people Australia wide.
SACOSS has a strong membership base consisting of both large and small agencies, other peak bodies, service providers, individuals and some government departments. Members display a strong committment to social justice manifested in our 40-strong Policy Council and a range of sub groups that tackle specific issues. These groups actively debate issues of importance to the sector and the wider community, and work towards better public policy.
